My names are Qamardeen Yusuf Odunlami, artistically called Ayeloyun also popularly known as Baba-Iyawo, I am native of Ilorin, born into a family of seven; four boys and three girls. I grow up in the Capital city of Nigeria, Lagos. I&#;m happily married with kids.

I am a product of Marcaz in Agege, before going into music, I was admitted to study Sharia and Common Law at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State in My first year was good, but I made some mistakes in my second year.

So, my parents said I had to choose between music and education, i would have been a lawyer but i had to dropped out in part Two, so eventually sacrificed studying Law for Music.

I never thought of being a musician. But it just happened. Naturally, I am shy. Off stage, I am a different person.

Even when we were still in Markaz, my mates knew I was shy. In fact, when they told my parents that I was singing, they said it was not possible. My father, in particular, said I couldn’t because I was even too shy to engage him in discussions most of the time. So, nobody really believed I could face a crowd.

I could say i discovered my talent whilst we used to have an evening Arabic class, where I happened to be one of the teachers.

So, during Ramadan, we would set a day aside to observe Lailatul- Quadry, when we would gather people to pray and all that. Usually, there was always a musical interlude, where some young ones would sing. On a certain occasion, all the young guys who were supposed to sing happened to sleep off. We tried to wake them up to sing, but it was not possible.

So, someone just suggested that I do it since I knew all the songs.
